ACADEMIC | INDIVIDUAL | HOUSING | 2019 The urban housing crisis is one of the major issues in Chennai (India) leading to substandard housing units and ignorance of the social aspects of the community neighbourhood. Social and Spacial configurations of community housing sites at Kotturpuram Housing Board, kannagi Nagar and Choolaimedu were examined. The design intent is to create a balanced relationship between an indiviidual a town , a builidng, and the environment. Understanding the built and unbuilt space relationship through figure grounds to derive volumetric configuration of the neighbourhood.
